Lino Doll: Rose Garden
Share
Reno and her family run a handmade candle shop.
The candles that Rino and his friends make are very popular in the neighborhood. There's a secret behind it.
First, Reno and his friends collect rose petals from the garden where roses are planted, then they pick roses from the rose tree behind the house.
Next, the "Haze no Mi" (wheat stalk) is carefully mashed and placed in a "steaming basket" where it is steamed for about 10 minutes. Once steamed, the soft fruit is wrapped in a clean cloth and placed in an iron basket. When a heavy stone is placed on top, a transparent candle base is formed from underneath along with the soft steam.
There is still a lot of work to do.
Pour a clear candle into a small mold, drop rose petals into it, and place it in a sunny spot where it will get lots of sunlight.
These handmade candles have a wonderful scent.
When work is finished in the evening, Lino and his friends have dinner and drink tea. They take out one of the candles they made that day and light it. The warm flickering of the flame and the soft scent of roses fill the air, making them feel as if they are enveloped in the long-awaited spring.
